A lovely, sunny St. David’s Day saw over 100 people descend on Aldford Village Hall for a History Event celebrating all things Aldford.
Long time residents of the village had put together a collection of photos, newspaper cuttings, census and general interest information together with information from the Eaton Estate Archive which included Tithe Maps and photos from when a lot of the houses in the village were built.
Refreshments were laid on in the form of soup, cake, tea and coffee so people could spend a relaxed hour or two looking at all the interesting information, chatting and asking questions.
Such was the success of the event that the Village Hall Committee are planning another event on Saturday 20th September with a specific theme of Food and Farming in Aldford!
